Treasury minister says bill may be higher
Government departments spent more than £21,000 of public money on taxis over the past 12 months.
That was for journeys for civil servants and consultants using Island taxi firms - and £6,000 less than was spent during the 2009/10 financial year.
But Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan admitted the latest bill could be higher, as taxi costs form part of £20,000 of claimed expenses during 2016/17.
MHK Jason Moorhouse had asked for a breakdown of the taxi bill which Mr Cannan insisted was regularly monitored.
