A government run children’s play area is to close at the end of next month.
The Dragon’s Castle, based at the Villa Marina, will no longer operate daily play sessions from April 29, although it will still be available to hire for birthday parties and special events.
Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen says the decision has been made taking into account the department’s well-publicised financial position and the fact alternative facilities are available in the Douglas area, including Jumping Jacks at the National Sports Centre.
No jobs have been lost and the posts will be reassigned within the Villa operation.
