Island GPs are meeting for their second education session of 2015 this afternoon (Thurs 12th)
The quarterly meetings provide GPs with the opportunity to discuss medical development and best practice as well as examining ways to improve patient care.
Whilst GPs won't be available for routine appointments, surgeries will remain open for patients to visit the practice nurse, make appointments, collect test results and order repeat prescriptions.
Urgent appointments and visits will be provided by locum GPs based at practices in Douglas, Peel and the south.
Anyone who needs urgent attention this afternoon should ring their GP practice as normal.
