BBC documentary reveals widespread safety concerns
The newly-formed Isle of Man Green Party has called on the government to put pressure on the operators of Sellafield.
A BBC investigation this week discovered widespread safety concerns at the plant - including radioactive waste being stored in degrading plastic bottles.
The party says it's concerned about the level of effluent waste being dumped in the Irish Sea - which the government says it monitors regularly.
But Chairman Andrew Newton says he'd like to see Tynwald lobby against the practice, as well as paying more heed to alternative energy on the Island:
