Agreement reached to demolish old building
The waterwheel in Groudle Glen is to be demolished, and then rebuilt.
Onchan District Commissioners, which owns most of the land in the glen, made the announcement yesterday.
The decision is something of a U-turn from the body, which two years ago said there was "no plan in place and no money in the budget" to repair the historic feature.
Repairs were estimated to cost in the region of £200,000 due to issues with access, a problem the Commissioners identified during a previous tender exercise.
It's now thought "an agreement has been reached".
