17-year-old committed for sentence at Court of General Gaol Delivery
A teenager from Douglas will be sentenced later this year after being caught in a hotel room with a bag full of cannabis.
Hayden Oates, of Fairways Drive, was arrested at the Best Western Palace Hotel and Casino on 29 November last year.
A JD Sports bag, containing the Class B dug separated into deal amounts, was located.
Police estimated the drugs to be worth £1,000; analysis of Oates’ phone showed he’d been supplying it to others.
At Douglas Courthouse the 17-year-old admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply and supplying the drug between July and November 2024.
Oates was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing and will next appear there on 21 March; bail continues.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse, on 21 March, Oates was told he'll be sentenced on 11 April 2025.
