Will Bellamy pays tribute to wider emergency services and healthcare community
The Head of the Island's Ambulance Service says he feels 'really honoured and privileged' after receiving the King’s Ambulance Medal as part of the 2026 New Year Honours.
Will Bellamy has been granted the award in recognition of more than 20 years with the Ambulance Service.
He became Head of the Ambulance Service here in 2022.
Posting a tribute online, Manx Care's Chief Executive Teresa Cope said: "Will exemplifies the very best of public service - compassionate, collaborative and relentlessly focused on better care.
"His leadership has empowered teams, strengthened education, and ensured our services are ready for the everyday and the exceptional. I’m delighted to see his contribution recognised with the King’s Ambulance Medal.”
Government House says: "Throughout his career, Mr Bellamy has demonstrated outstanding leadership and integrity, guiding his teams through challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and major service reconfigurations.
"He is widely respected as an inspirational and approachable leader and has served the Isle of Man with unwavering dedication, professionalism and distinction."
