Appeal continues for witnesses
Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash on the Mountain Road last night (Thurs), which claimed the life of a visiting biker.
The BMW rider from the UK who was travelling towards Douglas, collided head-on with a van heading in the opposite direction.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the white Fiat Doblo van were not hurt.
The accident happened at Keppel Gate, at around 7.15pm (Sept 10) in what police say were near perfect driving conditions.
A section of the road was closed for several hours as emergency services dealt with the scene.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash continue this morning.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or was in traffic nearby immediately prior to it, is asked to contact police on 631212.
