Government CEO to assess press release accusing Julie Edge of making false statements in Tynwald
Manx Care's public criticism of Onchan MHK Julie Edge has been escalated to the Isle of Man’s top civil servant.
The Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Government, alongside the Chair and Chief Executive of Manx Care, is to review the circumstances surrounding the press release, which accused Ms Edge of making 'sweeping, factually incorrect statements' in Tynwald.
Manx Care disputed Ms Edge’s claim that a 'possible' code red was declared due to staffing levels, clarifying that a code red relates to security incidents, not staff shortages.
The health body later accused the MHK of causing 'unnecessary anxiety to the public' - something Health Minister Claire Christian was asked if her department agrees with:
