Full and frank conversation with Chief Minister
Kate Beecroft has resigned as the Health Minister.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle made the announcement this afternoon (Wed 3 Jan).
Mrs Beecroft was appointed to the position in October 2016.
She made the decision to step down after a meeting with the Chief Minister yesterday. (Tues 2nd)
Mr Quayle says they had a "full and frank" conversation on a wide range of political and department issues, including the resignation of two departmental members, and he subsequently received Mrs Beecroft's resignation earlier today.
The Chief Minister goes on to say he understands her decision and has placed on record his thanks for her hard work over the past 14 months as she has sought to put the Island's health service on a sustainable footing for the next generation.
A new minister is expected to be appointed soon.
