The places most affected will be Shore Road – Rushen, through to the bottom of Fishers Hill, Douglas Promenade, Castletown Promenade, and to a lesser degree Laxey and Ramsey Promenades.
Stuart Davison, a forecaster from the MET office, says the rain will arrive in a few hours and it will be heavy and persistent:
Meanwhile the Steam Packet says that based on the current forecast the Douglas to Heysham sailing that's supposed to depart at 8.45am now leaves at 7.30am, with passengers required to check-in no later than 7am.
The Douglas to Liverpool sailing at 3pm this afternoon however, is at risk of being disrupted or cancelled due to the weather.
A decision on the sailing will be made by 1pm.
