Jet Ranger down near 33rd milestone
A helicopter has come down on the Island.
The privately owned Bell Jet Ranger helicopter crashed in the valley near to the 33rd milestone on the Mountain Road just after 9am.
It's believed there was only one person onboard at the time, a man who isn't believed to be an Island resident.
Emergency services are at the scene and air crash investigators are trying to establish the cause of the crash.
No other aircraft were involved in the crash and the aircraft came down in fields - no property was damaged.
The Mountain Road is currently closed between Ramsey and the Creg ny Baa and will remain closed until further notice.
