DED optimistic alternative work is available
Help will be available for those who are losing their jobs at Friends Provident International in Castletown.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed 33 positions are to go at the firm as it restructures following its takeover by Aviva earlier this year.
Local MHK Richard Ronan has called it "another blow for the south of the Island".
Chief Executive at the Department of Economic Development Chris Corlett says whilst it's very sad for all those concerned, the sector overall remains buoyant and he's optimistic that many of the staff will be able to find alternative work on the Island:
