A government minister says he's confident higher earners in the Isle of Man understand why they will either lose or have their child benefit reduced.
From next April, families with an annual income above £90,000 will no longer receive payments.
There’ll also be a reduction on a sliding scale for couples who earn more than £60,000.
The Department of Social Care has begun sending forms to child benefit recipients so they can make new, income-tested claims from 7 April 2014.
Claim forms are being sent out in four batches, in surname alphabetical order.
Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw says some of the savings will go back to those who need additional help from the state for early years care:
