Warning issued over potent drug
Health bosses are warning a particularly strong batch of the drug MDMA is likely to be circulating in the Island.
It comes after a person died, and four others were left in a critical condition, after taking the substance in Manchester.
An 18-year old from Jersey is also thought to have died after he took tablets branded with the IKEA logo earlier this month.
MDMA is also sold in crystal form, occasionally known as 'magic' or 'pink champagne'.
Staff from the Island's Public Health Directorate say even small amounts of the highly potent substance can trigger a severe or even fatal reaction.
They add drug users should be 'extremely cautious', and seek advice from the Drug and Alcohol Team on 617889.
