Policy introduced by Department of Education, Sport and Culture in January
There's said to have been a noticeable increase in social interaction between students following the introduction of a no-smartphone policy at the start of the year.
In January, the education department introduced an Island-wide rule that pupils could bring the devices with them, but must keep them turned off and safely stored away during lessons and whilst travelling through the school.
It's a move that was welcomed by campaigners who've been urging parents to delay giving their children smartphones until later into their secondary school education.
