Government House delighted to see 'awe-inspiring' vessel pass Manx capital
One of the most powerful surface warships ever constructed in the UK will sail past Douglas this afternoon.
HMS Prince of Wales is due to pass Douglas Head at 3pm on her way to Liverpool.
Government House says the size and scope of the ship are awe-inspiring, with the flight deck of HMS Prince of Wales big enough for three football pitches.
The vessel is designed for a wide range of duties, including humanitarian relief, saving lives and fighting terrorism.
