Charity says it is no longer in need of a vehicle after generous offers from the local community
A charity on the Isle of Man says it has been "overwhelmed" by public support after issuing an urgent plea for help.
The Home of Rest for Old Horses recently appealed for assistance after both of its 4x4 vehicles were taken out of service for repairs, leaving the small team without essential transport for daily tasks.
As the charity receives no government funding, it asked if anyone could loan a quad bike or 4x4 - for a few days or a week - to help them continue caring for their horses and donkeys.
Following a huge response on social media, the organisation says the situation has now been resolved thanks to offers from local residents.
In a follow-up statement, the team said they were "truly overwhelmed" by the kindness shown and confirmed they are no longer in need of a vehicle.
They described the community response as heart-warming and said the equipment would make a major difference to their daily work caring for animals.
