101 year old receives posthumous honour
Inducting a war veteran into the Manx Patriots Roll of Honour is the Isle of Man’s way of saying ‘Thank You’.
That’s the opinion of Douglas Central MHK Ann Corlett who nominated Hector Duff OBE for the accolade.
The former Onchan resident, who had served in the Second World War, died last year aged 101.
He was admired for his work on war memorial preservation as well as the hours he spent educating children on the realities of war.
Mrs Corlett says it is a fitting tribute:
Pothole claims cost department thousands
Increase in scarlet fever on the Island
Government 'neglecting' heritage assets across the Island
Motiv8: 'We will never reach all the children on the Isle of Man'
House of Keys question paper dominated by one MHK
