Ramsey MHK withdrew Tynwald motion this month
A Ramsey MHK who wants to introduce an all Island leisure rate says he will continue to attempt to gain support for his idea despite opposition.
Lawrie Hooper was due to put forward a motion – which would see money ringfenced to pay for regional swimming pools – in Tynwald this month.

However he withdrew it claiming that he was aware government was going to table an amendment to it which would make it ‘untenable’ and ‘kick it into the long grass’.
Mr Hooper says he’s now due to meet with the treasury minister to try and progress the issue:
