Continues to be used for Manx Care's ‘recovery and restoration’ work
No ‘firm decisions’ have been made about the future of the Private Patients’ Unit at Noble’s Hospital.
That’s according to the health and social care minister who has confirmed it’s unlikely to see people privately until 2024.
Manx Care is currently using the wing for ‘recovery and restoration’ work as part of efforts to reduce the elective surgery waiting lists.
The PPU was closed in 2019 - initially being earmarked for redeveloped before being used during the Covid-19 pandemic to help with management of patients.
Lawrie Hooper says that NHS work has to be prioritised before anything else happens:
