Will provide the opportunity to meet employers and see what they can offer
It's hoped a Construction Skills Conference being held later this week will bring together construction industry professionals from all disciplines and walks of life with budding apprentices.
Interested young people, along with employers, apprentices or self-employed experts are all invited to the Niarbyl suite at the Comis hotel on Friday (22 August) between 2.30pm and 5pm.
There'll be a few short presentations from industry professionals from approximately 3.15pm.
Organised by local Quantity Surveyor Rosie Manuja the event is aimed at anyone aged 14 and over who's interested in a career in construction.
She says it's been put together as an 'emergency conference', following feedback she'd received about the number of apprentices who can't find work placements:
