Work continues after Victorian pipe damaged

The MUA says it hopes to have the sewage leak in Ramsey fixed within the next 24 hours.
Raw sewage has been leaking on to the beach after contractors working to modernise the system around the Ramsey area damaged an old Victorian sewer pipe.
Members of the public have been told to avoid the north Mooragh area . . .and also walkers have been told to avoid a section of coast between the slipway opposite the entrance to Ramsey Rugby club house and the north end of the Vollan, below the former Grand Island Hotel.
Director of Network Services at the MUA, Adrian Dobbins says they're working in difficult conditions . . but trying to repair the pipe as quickly as they can . .
