Decision made to aid prom works, says IoM Transport
Isle of Man Transport says the Douglas Bay Horse Trams will cease operations for the remainder of 2019, to enable the continuing reconstruction of Douglas promenade.
In a post on social media, the department said the team, along with volunteers, will offer stable tours to all groups who were expecting horse tram rides as part of their package.
Isle of Man Transport apologises for any inconvenience caused, and thanks all its customers who have supported the horse trams this season.
The news follows calls from the Department for Enterprise's political member with responsibility for tourism, Rob Callister MHK, for the horse trams to be stopped next year.
That was live on Manx Radio's Perspective programme, discussing the impact the refurbishment works are having on businesses along the prom.
