Ward closures put health services under pressure

A shortage of bed spaces led to a number of patients scheduled for elective surgery being contacted yesterday.
The public are asked not to visit patients unless 'absolutely necessary', and to avoid A&E if they've been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea.
