Red tape cut to boost sector
Work permit exemptions for the hospitality sector come in from today.
However, companies must pre-register and only employ people from the European Economic Area for the season to the end of October.
Rob Callister is the political member at the Department of Economic Development responsible for tourism.
He says with unemployment on the Island at a very low rate (1.3%) government has listened to the needs of the hospitality industry:
