Noble’s Hospital remains under ‘significant pressure’ with patients having to be cared for in the Emergency Department overnight this week.
The medical facility is operating at OPEL 4 – yesterday this was due to a lack of admitting capacity.
Tynwald has been told the facility was at that level 10 times in the period between 1 November 2021 and 31 December 2022.
Of these five instances were in December alone - a number already matched in January this year.
Manx Care Chief Executive Teresa Cope says elevating the hospital's status is necessary to help the hospital manage and redistribute the resources it has when it is stretched:
