Consultation ends 12th June
There is still time for people to submit their views on proposals aimed at making financial support available for people living with long-term health conditions.
The aim is to allow them to adapt their homes and continue living independently.
The consultation on plans to provide assistance of up to £30,000, or £50,000 in cases of exceptional need, following clinical recommendation, runs until 12 June.
The means-tested grants or loans would be used to either buy equipment or make adaptations to a person’s home and will consolidate the arrangements currently in place between the Department of Health and Social Care and Department for Infrastructure.
The consultation invites comments on the DOI's proposed House Improvement (Adaptations) Scheme 2018. Public feedback will be taken into account before any changes are finalised and taken forward for approval by Tynwald.
Responses can be submitted using the Government consultation hub at consult.gov.im/
