Island churches encouraged to consider sustainability
Churches across the Isle of Man are being encouraged to make their floral displays more environmentally friendly.
The Diocese of Sodor and Man recently organised a sustainable flower-arranging workshop which was attended by representatives from 13 churches.
It explored ways of creating floral displays without single-use plastic foam, which can break down into harmful microplastics.
Participants were also encouraged to choose seasonal, locally-grown flowers to reduce transport emissions and costs, while continuing to celebrate the natural world through church displays.
