A former MHK, bidding for a seat on Legislative Council, says he believes what counts with the electorate is what you can bring to the table.
Martyn Perkins lost his seat in Garff in 2021.
He is now one of the candidates putting their name forward for election on 4 March.
He told Manx Radio's Political Correspondent, Phil Gawne, he felt his defeat was down to one issue:
