Peel initiative hoping to bring the community together thrives
A group of volunteers in Peel are hoping their weekly event will help bring the community together.
'The Shared Table' is a weekly event offering a three-course meal to anyone who wants to go.
It's free and open to anyone regardless of their situation.
Rachel O'Connor and Katie Dening are two of the organisers.
They've been telling Amy Griffiths more about it:
The scheme has already seen many members of the community come together to support it.
Among them are No. 16 Victoria Street Butchers in Douglas, who have agreed to supply the meat for the meals free of charge.
Rachel and Katie say the support's been invaluable:
The Shared Table takes place every Thursday at the Western Wellbeing Centre between 6-8pm.
You don't have to book to attend, but it helps to send a message to Rachel on 07624 435636 so they can get an idea of numbers.
