Big rise in patients at radiology and A&E
The number of patients having operations, X-rays and outpatient appointments as well A&E cases at Noble's Hospital has increased by almost 15 percent over the last decade.
Figures published by the Department of Health and Social Care show almost 265,000 people have been seen in the four areas at the hospital in 2024, up from just over 230,000 in 2014.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge requested the data from the last 10 years for hospital operations, cases through accident and emergency, examinations in radiology and outpatient appointments.
Operations saw only a small rise, increasing from 5,092 to 5,120, while outpatient appointments were up just over 6,000 to 129,453.
A&E saw a bigger jump, with almost 48,000 cases this year compared to just over 35,000 in 2014.
Demand in radiology also rose, with more than 82,000 appointments this year - nearly 16,000 more than a decade ago.
