4.5 percent paid less than minimum wage in 2022, up from 1.3 percent in 2021
The number of people earning below the minimum wage more than tripled last year and is at its highest level for five years.
Figures released by the Cabinet Office show 4.5 percent of Manx workers were paid less than the minimum wage last year, with 16.9 percent earning below the living wage.
In 2021, just 1.3 percent were earning below minimum wage, with 10.1 percent under the living wage.
In 2018, 3.4 percent were being paid under minimum wage, with that number falling steadily until last year.
The data has been taken from government's most recent earnings survey and published following a Tynwald written question from Douglas North MHK David Ashford.
The minimum wage currently stands at £8.05 for those over compulsory school age but under 18, and it's £10.75 for those over the age of 18.
