Criminals using sites like Facebook, Paypal and iTunes, say police
Police are seeing an increase in Island residents being deceived or 'fooled' into handing over money to online scammers.
Most cases has been recorded over social media sites - with majority of it taking place on Facebook, Paypal and iTunes.
Sergeant Charles Maloney told Manx Radio if a deal seems to be too good to be true, it generally is.
He says the quantities of cash given up by people to these fraudsters can often vary:
