Victims want inquiry into child care home abuse scandal
An alleged victim of abuse at a former Island children's care home says a full, independent investigation must be launched.
Christine Urquhart was a resident at Knottfield, which was situated on Woodbourne Road in Douglas, before its official closure in 1983.
Speaking exclusively to Manx Radio, Miss Urquhart says she does not blame the Isle of Man Constabulary alone.
But she echoed the view of fellow victims, that the inquiry into historical abuse at Knottfield should be carried out by an overseas, independent body - not by a Tynwald committee, or Manx police:
