Several children taken ill with flu-like symptoms
A nursery in Douglas has warned parents, after an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease.
Several children at the Sandcastles Kindergarten on the promenade have come down with flu-like symptoms in recent days.
The illness also causes mouth ulcers and distinctive small red spots on the hands and feet.
Although unpleasant, it usually clears up unaided in a week or two - and it is in no way related to the foot and mouth disease which affects farm animals.
Parents who have noticed any symptoms are asked to keep their children away from pre-school.
