CPI figure down to 1.8% in May
Inflation dropped slightly last month.
The figure, as measured by the Consumer Prices Index, was down 0.1% from 1.9% to 1.8%.
The reduction has mainly been caused by a drop in the prices of clothing, particularly childrens' outerwear. There's also been a broad decrease in the price of communication, although postage increased.
Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels also contributed towards the drop.
Air travel, internet subscriptions and household equipment all went up.
The figure, as measured by the RPI, was 0.9%.
