Travel responsible for majority of increases
Inflation has risen by half a percent from December to January.
Last month's figures show the rate of inflation increasing from 2.1 to 2.6 per cent.
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) shows the biggest contributors are travel costs including driving lessons, as well as subscriptions to internet.
Transport has been responsible for 1.1% of the 12-month rate - with air fares off and on Island rising, and the cost of petrol and diesel higher than a year ago.
Prices that have fallen however, can be seen in clothing and footwear and men's outerwear - plus food and non-alcoholic beverages have seen a marginal increase of just 0.3% in the past 12 months.
