Extra funding will be needed to identify further routes
The infrastructure minister hopes funding will be made available for priority routes for walking and cycling in other parts of the Island in the future.
Improvement works will be made to a number of areas within a 2.5-mile radius of Douglas town centre, in a bid to encourage more people to use active travel on a daily basis.
At a launch event, one member of the public asked about adding routes in the north of the Island.
