Department of Infrastructure to set up housing agency instead
The infrastructure minister's defended spending nearly £80,000 on a housing report, despite not following its recommendations.
In Tynwald yesterday, Michelle Haywood confirmed plans to set up a new government-led housing agency rather than an arms-length association.
She told the court she wasn't dismissing Altair's report, but said that it only presented one pathway and did not fully explore alternatives or evaluate all associated costs.
Dr Haywood says this new approach gives them time to consider the best ways to tackle some of the Island's housing issues:
