DHA confirms 'isolated passive incident' at Jurby facility
Manx Radio understands some prisoners are holding a protest at the Isle of Man Prison.
It’s believed to be in relation to the amount of time they’re having to spend in their cells due to low staffing levels.
A spokesperson for the Department of Home Affairs has confirmed the prison is dealing with an ‘isolated passive incident’ involving a ‘small number’ of prisoners.
They have added the department can’t comment on ongoing incidents for ‘security reasons’.
Manx Radio has asked the DHA to confirm if there is any risk to the safety of inmates, prison staff or the wider public.
