Died 'pursuing his dream'
An inquest has heard the details of a 'catastrophic' crash which claimed the life of a TT rider last June.
Paul Shoesmith, who was from Poynton, Cheshire, suffered multiple injuries when his front tyre burst on the Sulby Straight on Saturday, 4 June.
Witnesses described seeing an explosion from the bike, which was hitting speeds in excess of 160mph.
Mr Shoesmith was described as having been killed instantly in the collision.
Recording a verdict of misadventure, Coroner John Needham said the 50-year-old died 'pursuing his dream', and that the bike had passed a technical inspection ahead of the session.
The father-of-four had been competing in the TT since 2005.
