The inquest into the death of a six month old baby was this morning opened and adjourned (TUES).
Kai John Robson McKellar passed away at his home on the 17th of December.
The court heard that on the 17th of December the 6 month old was found on the bedroom floor of the flat on Bucks Road, Douglas by his mother, Chelsea Robson.
Miss Robson immediately dialled 999.
Initial examinations revealed an unexplained mark on the back of the child’s head but investigations found no suspicious circumstances.
The death is being treated as ‘unexplained’ and the family heard that further post-mortem examinations may take 3-4 months.
However, the body has now been released to allow funeral arrangements to be made.
The Coroner of Inquests, Jane Hughes, apologised for the delay in today’s proceedings, and stressed her sympathy for the family - particularly at this time of year.
