An inquest into the death of a pilot whose helicopter crashed in a field off the Mountain Road has been opened and adjourned.
Forty-eight-year-old Matthew Chapman from Lincolnshire had just delivered two passengers to the Creg-Ny-Baa, on Saturday 6 June.
He was returning to Ronaldsway to refuel when the aircraft came down near the 33rd milestone on the A18.
Although the post mortem was complete, a toxicology report is still awaited so no official cause of death was recorded at the hearing.
The court heard evidence from ambulance paramedic Roger Gillam who said the businessman sustained multiple injuries consistent with a helicopter crash.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham adjourned the inquest to a date yet to be fixed and passed on his sincere condolences to Mr Chapman's family.
