An inquest into the death of Island teenager Lucia Porter in a car accident last month, has been opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse.
The 14-year old from Wybourne Grove in Onchan lost her life when the car she was travelling in crashed on the Switchback Road in Peel on 8 March.
The inquest before coroner John Needham heard Lucia died at the scene from her injuries.
Lucia's mother Julie and several family members attended today's hearing, where Mr Needham offered them his condolences.
The coroner released the teenager's body for funeral arrangements to be made and adjourned the inquest until after police inquiries are concluded.
