Remote working and periods spent on Island says government
The Isle of Man's new director of public health will work in a 'hybrid way'.
Professor van Woerden has been appointed as an interim following the retirement of Dr Henrietta Ewart.
Government says his contract is designed to be 'flexible and responsive' and he will combine remote working with periods spent on Island.
Professor van Woerden said: "I was on the Island for my first week of work and met the Island's dedicated Public Health team.
"My commitment is to be on Island as much as is required.
The process to recruit a permanent person to the post is currently underway – government says this will 'take time' and requires the input of the Faculty of Public Health.
