Several roads in Peel will be closed throughout the day
There’ll be a distinctly colourful and cosmopolitan theme at Peel Carnival Day today (Sunday).
To coincide with the Olympics in Rio, there’ll be an international-theme including a dance group from Romania, a Brazilian dance troupe, vibrant music and costumes, a steel drum band, a samba dance group, and even a group of Chinese Lion dancers.
A sandcastle competition will officially kick start the extravaganza at 10am, with the showpiece carnival parade alongside the harbour and across the promenade set for a 2pm start.
A number of roads in the town will be closed throughout the day with parking restrictions.
