Vessel not damaged below water line
It's still not clear why the Manannan hit the harbour last night (Thurs)
Speaking on the Mandate programme this morning, Steam Packet Chief Executive Mark Woodward said it appeared the vessel came astern faster than usual and made contact with the linkspan area, causing light damage.
He said he was relieved there were no injuries reported and the vessel hadn't been damaged in any way below the water line
Mr Woodward said repair crews had been working on the vessel overnight, but whilst optimistic that the damage wasn't extensive, he couldn't say when she would be able to continue scheduled sailings.
