Four-fold increase reported in the UK
The UK has seen a four-fold increase in Lyme disease, but that's not the case on the Isle of Man.
Although unable to provide an exact figure, Public Health Isle of Man confirmed to Manx Radio that the number of people contracting the disease on the Island is very low.
However, it warns it is possible for a Manx resident to catch the illness while off-Island, and only see symptoms when the person returns.
If you're concerned about the conditions, there's more information and advice at gov.im/ticks.
