Governor Bob McColm gives Covid-19 update
The governor of Isle of Man Prison says the institution is having to deal with the "irresponsible and selfish 1%" who are not following Covid-19 rules.
Bob McColm, who is also head of the probation service, was appearing at today's government media briefing.
The prison has been reconfigured to contain an isolation wing, he says, to house those who have Covid-19.
There's just one confirmed case there - an inmate, who contracted the virus before arrival.
All new prisoners are being isolated as standard in the isolation wing, in single cells, spread around that section of the prison.
Mr McColm praised his staff, and says there's been a big overhaul for them:
Anonymous employees of the Isle of Man Prison have been in contact with Manx Radio expressing serious concerns about a lack of personal protective equipment in the facility.
